Introduction

Weerts Group is a family-owned business active in 3 different yet complementary fields of activities: Real Estate, Logistics and Racing. These seemingly divergent activities are in fact mutually and reinforce each other. Weerts Group is headquartered in Liège, Belgium and has operations in Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Hungary and Romania. It currently employs 550+ FTEs.

The Weerts transport business started modestly before WWII with one truck for agricultural transport in and around Teuven, a small village in the Voeren region.

The real expansion started in the 1960s, when the firm started to develop into a national and international transport firm "Transports Weerts & Fils”. Starting in 1989, the transport offering was complemented with warehousing and logistics handling activities. In 1994, at the age of 26, Yves Weerts became the CEO of the group following the unexpected and sudden death of his father.

Under Yves’ leadership the business further expanded until 2008, when the road transport division was sold and Yves decided to refocus on real estate, logistic warehouse activities and … racing, each of which have witnessed significant growth in the last 2-3 years and are poised for accelerated growth in the next coming years.

Yves Weerts is the Executive Chairman of the group and is also part of the board of directors of WRT.
