Introduction

BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded in 1972. Since then, the racing department has become one of the most legendary brands in the business, winning countless races and titles all over the world. Race cars like the BMW 3.0 CSL, the BMW M1 Procar, the BMW M3 E30 or the BMW V12 LMR are icons. BMW M Motorsport is building on this history by adding more success in GT racing with the BMW M4 GT3. With the BMW M Hybrid V8, BMW M Motorsport opens a new chapter of long-distance racing with electrified powertrains.

Mission & Vision

As part of its sustainability strategy, the BMW Group has set clear objectives for the reduction of CO2 by 2030. This undertaking obviously covers the entire vehicle portfolio at BMW M GmbH. As racing has been part of the BMW M DNA for decades, development on the road and on the racetrack go hand in hand. The BMW M Hybrid V8 is spearheading the transformation towards electrification, which BMW M GmbH will undergo in the coming years. The LMDh prototype is more than just a race car. It is leading the way into an electrified future for BMW M, by emphatically demonstrating how dynamic and emotional electrified M Power can be.
