WRT Manufacturing

Introduction

On the WRT manufacturing activity, alongside AMP chassis and the build of the Fun Cup, WRT is also actively involved in GT4 customer racing.

Since the end of 2019, WRT set up and developed an assembly line for GT4 race cars, as well as a warehouse that is used as the main logistic centre to ship parts and support GT4 customers all over the world. At the end of 2023, more than 70 complete cars will have been assembled in Belgium since the beginning of the project.

History

WRT Manufacturing, formally known as AMP Belgium, is a precision engineering workshop that over the years has developed roll bars and chassis reinforcements for a number of Europe's leading motorsport programs.

This workshop was the first to be recognised by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) as an approved manufacturer.

It was in the spring of 2015 that WRT entered the scene. With the objective to control the production of its Fun Cup chassis. WRT moved AMP to a larger premises and restructured the staff, but maintained the main welding and sheet metal forming techniques.

FACTS

Today, the manufacturing department of WRT has 2500m² of workshops, warehouses and offices, employs 35 people and with the passing of years, a true department of construction and assembly developed, thanks to the various national and international partnerships. From the Fun Cup to Volkswagen Motorsport, Hyundai Motorsport to Toyota Gazoo Racing, for the categories GT4; WRC2, WTCR, E-TCR, Historic and classic cars.

The manufacturing department reaches the production of more than 110 chassis per year, and thanks to the assembly department created at the end of 2019, WRT now manage everything from A to Z.

In order to offer high quality to its customers, a quality control department with high technology measuring tools and paint management are also part of the new skills developed within manufacturing.
